That’s why we offer youth pheasant hunters under 18 years old a 50% discount when accompanied by an adult purchasing the same package. We normally do not mix the different groups staying with us at the Lodge, but hunting with only a few people can be more challenging than hunting with a larger party. Should you develop a friendship with another small group while you are both enjoying the Lodge, we would be more than happy to combine your two parties for one or more days of hunting. That way, you can experience the different techniques that come with large group upland hunting expeditions.

If your group is seeking to enjoy South Dakota’s unparalleled upland hunting for fewer than three days, we are happy to accommodate your plans. If your group wishes to hunt with us for more than five days, please be aware that we may require advance notice for scheduling purposes.
Groups hoping to embark on longer hunts should also keep in mind the possession limitations on out-of-state licenses as determined by the South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Department. For example, nonresident pheasant hunting licenses allow 10 days total, but this time must be broken up into two five-day periods. Some solo hunters prefer to work with a single dedicated guide during their stays. At Dakota Prairie Lodge & Resort, we are pleased to provide this exclusive service. If you would like to work one-on-one with a personal guide, please provide advanced notice so that we can match you with one of our best-in-class masters of the sport.

While you might know us best as South Dakota’s premier pheasant hunting location, we also offer a variety of other hunts including waterfowl, prairie dog, dove, varmint, and walleye fishing. Many of our groups enjoy combining different hunts during their stay in order to maximize their time on the wide open prairie. Advance notice of your selections is required upon booking.
Some seasons do not converge conveniently, but these combo packages tend to work well:
- Pheasant/waterfowl (best from mid-October to late November) - $1,500 per person per day
- Walleye/waterfowl (best from mid-September to mid-October) - $1,250 per person per day
- Prairie dog/walleye (best in May, June, and July) - $1,200 per person per day
- Dove/walleye (best from early September to mid-October) - $1,200 per person per day
- Prairie dog/dove (best from early September to mid-October) - $1,000 per person per day

We are also proud to offer hunting-only, lodging-only, and spa/cultural packages. During the off-season, the Lodge provides a sought-after, exciting venue for group functions. In the past, we have hosted weddings, birthday parties, family reunions, and more. We would love to help you celebrate your next big event!
